ABOUT

ME!

"(he) held an unboxed bag of red wine above his head as his teammates chanted "the blood!" and writhed around him, begging until he poured the liquid all over them, himself, and the stage. The audience is riveted."- Katla Mcglynn. Vanity Fair

John Xavier Miller is an actor, improviser and writer hailing from West Bloomfield, Michigan; which is really just the last place he lived before starting college. He also lived in South Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Are his parents in the military? No. But his dad just liked moving a lot, so John has a smattering of childhood (but actually just Facebook) friends up and down the east coast and Midwest. John attended Ithaca College and received a BFA in Acting with a minor in Dance. There he performed onstage in a bunch of plays and even an opera.  There he also started his own modern dance company, Rock Hard Dance Company, that performed regionally and at the American College Dance Festival.

Since moving to NYC he has acted on-stage in various productions such as Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, The Winter’s Tale, Macbeth, and The Full Monty. While stage acting had its initial draw, he craved something more and began taking classes at Upright Citizens Brigade. He contributed sketches to the gay variety show Queerball, Sketch Cram and The Spotlight. He has written for the sketch teams Candy Ass, Adult Drama Club and Old Girl; all at The People's Improv Theater. In 2019, John began writing for the UCB Maude team, After School Snack. He continues to look for new experiences and endeavors with his writing and hopes to one day win an Emmy and rub it in the faces of all his naysayers. Now John performs with the UCB Lloyd team The Board, sketch team 15 Minutes Away, musical improv On The Spot and teaches sketch at UCB.
